DR. RICHARD SALAZAR
Owner - Armadillo Sport Chiropractic Portland

Dr. Richard Salazar, D.C. was born in Corpus Christi, TX but raised in Sinton TX, home of the mighty Pirates. After graduating from Sinton High School, he attended Texas A&M University Corpus Christi where he pursued a degree in Kinesiology. In order for Dr. Salazar to graduate, a 400 hour field based internship was required, this is when he became a member of the ASC team as a chiropractic assistant. After seeing the amazing results and improvement of athletes, he fell in love with the field. He decided to attend Texas Chiropractic College in Pasadena, TX where he graduated with a Doctorate of Chiropractic in 2017. While attending TCC, Dr. Salazar was able to work with athletes from Rice University in sports such as football, basketball, tennis, soccer, and swimming which solidified his passion of working with athletes. After graduating, he moved back to Corpus and became an associate doctor at Armadillo.

 

Dr. Salazar began his martial arts journey at the age of five, specializing in Tae Keon Do. Since his journey began he has trained in many styles of martial arts including Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, Arnis, Kajukenbo, Akito, Krav Maga, and MMA. After many years of hard work and dedication, Dr. Salazar earned his fourth degree master instructor black belt in Tae Kwon Do in 2013. To this day, he still has a love and understanding for all martial arts and always enjoys a hard training session.

 

On Dr. Salazar’s spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two dogs and can be found near a BBQ pit.
